My First Invitational Exhibit

Maybe it's a dream. My first invitational exhibit. And in la-te-da Las Colinas to boot. Can't take the credit though. God is very gracious. Here's a crop of one of the pieces to be hung in that 5-artist show. Hope to post pics from it later. I still have to finish the rest of my works by a week from today!

She's Already Gone

Madeleine L'Engle has died. I only just now found out. In fact, I read it on someone else's blog. I wish I could've had the chance to tell her just how much her writing meant to me nearly 40 years ago when I "discovered" her through her well-known A Wrinkle In Time; and how much more she meant to me during this last decade as I read more of her works and rediscovered the Wrinkle series. Now, *she* is the kind of Christian that I want to be. On the cutting edge in the arts, fully engaged in culture, but not a slave to it. Unique, courageous, creative, generous, kind. I can't wait to meet her.

Here's her official web site: http://www.madeleinelengle.com

The New York Times reported:

“Why does anybody tell a story?” Ms. L’Engle once asked, even though she knew the answer.

“It does indeed have something to do with faith,” she said, “faith that the universe has meaning, that our little human lives are not irrelevant, that what we choose or say or do matters, matters cosmically.”

What It's About

It's where I've been for the last 24 years. My, how time flies when you're slinging ink.

Hard at Work?

Emerging from the Scriptorium into the 21st C.

Who would've thought I'd take so long to get a simple blog? Who would've thought that this quill-wielding scribe would have a weblog this soon in the fad of the season? Who knows if anyone will ever read this or care? But, somehow, it just seemed the time to do it.

I delight in perusing my friends' artsy blogs - poetry, prose, photos, fine art. What a way to state ourselves.

What will come of it?
